Harding Township is a very historical area of New Jersey, bordered by the Great Swamp and Jockey Hollow, which was Washington's encampment. The center of Harding Township houses the Tunis-Ellicks house and the Harding Township Historical Association. Indian Arrowheads and Axes are regularly found in the fields surrounding the township. In fact, the area near Sheepfield Farms was an Indian burial ground. There was a blacksmith in the center of the town, and the First Presbyterian church is also very historical.
